Oatmeal with stewed berries

In my home oatmeal is a stable breakfast during the week days. No problem waking up in the morning when I know it´s oatmeal time. It´s quick to make, filling and satisfying. You can easily switch up the flavors to by adding different seeds, nut butters and fruit/berries.

Oatmeal with stewed berries

Ingredients (serves 2)

1 cup (90g) rolled oats

1 cup (250ml) milk of choice

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Ingredients: toppings

1 cup (100g) frozen strawberries, stewed

2 tsp nut butter (I used almond butter)

2 tbsp pumpkin seeds


1. Add rolled oats, milk and cinnamon to a medium pot on high heat. Bring to a boil and reduce to medium heat while stirring on occasion. Let it simmer until it becomes thick and creamy, about 8 minutes.

2. When done remove from the heat. Add the toppings and enjoy!


Nutritional tips: If using plant-milk look for the once who are fortified (aim for approximately 120mg calcium per 100ml serving)
